03/12/12: Live in the Living Room – Do They Know It’s Christmas?

Music is amazing.  Music with a purpose is even better.  That’s exactly what Live in the Living Room have produced.  With a host of Kent’s finest LTLR’s mastermind  James Vince has recorded this version to raise awareness of a very important cause.  The Meningitis Trust have been raising awareness about Meningitis for 25 years, and this follows an event earlier in the year also supporting the cause.

Down to the song.  Recorded by .. guess, go on – yep you got it, Dan Lucas of Anchor Baby Recordings it’s a faithful and strong version of the original showcasing the talent we have in Kent.  Opened by Alie Cotter of Blaise Paisel it even has extra flourishes of production, such as the vocals laid down by Ted Clark.  The Alex Beharrell Band play the backing track.  You can’t get anymore local than this and the level of quality shows how good our local scene is.  Get your copy here.

The video that accompanies the track was filmed by Colin O’Reilly from AMEBA.  Shot in the studio during the recording it shows the atmosphere of the session perfectly, showing the enjoyment and passion of those involved.  It even feature’s our own Mitch Emery singing and busting a move.

The Gig Guide: 22nd – 28th October

Another week, another host of gigs to sink your ears into!

The Week in Gigs 15th – 21th October

This week our gigs start from Thursday so if we’re missing any let us know!  Having said that we still have plenty to keep you busy.

Our first offering is in Maidstone.  On Thursday combine two great loves.  Music and pizza!  Pizza Express are hosting The Charlie Rivers Band, Fred Clark, Kyla Stroud and The Paul Dunton Ensemble.  Acoustic music at it’s finest.  Find more details here.
