John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John – This Christmas

I can’t tell a lie, Christmas music doesn’t have much a home in my musical world.  When it’s Vincent Vega singing it to you though you should at least give it a listen.  I mean have you seen how he gets about burgers?!  So him (otherwise known as John Travolta) and Olivia Newton-John have joined forces once more to record.

What they’ve recorded is thirteen Christmas classics.  As Christmas classics go they sound good.  There are children’s choirs and some famous friends like Barbara Streisand.  It delivers everything we’ve come to expect from a Christmas album.  There’s no doubt this will be filling many a house on the big day this year.  The biggest plus about this album are vocals from John and Olivia which deliver these Christmas songs perfectly, showing this isn’t just two stars abusing their fame in an area they have no talent in.

It does sound like every other Christmas album you’ve ever heard though.  If you’re a big fan of their previous work, or you’re in need of a new disc  then this is the album for you.  If you have bought a Christmas album though in the last twenty years and you and it get along there really isn’t much point buying this.  The profits do go to charity however; that’s one thing you can’t disagree with – Christmas spirit.

If I were you, I’d make a YouTube playlist of more original tracks to fill your ears with this Christmas.  I’ll start you off, The Killers ‘Don’t Shoot Me Santa’.
