Anyone that’s ever seen Crashgate live will know what they’re about. Style, soul, personality and a lot of loud noises. But we don’t have to technology to trap people into discs yet, so that makes all of that slightly hard to capture. The people at Glasshouse Productions UK though have done it though, and the result is B.O.B.
This is the debut single from the band, and something you need to explore! A light riff kicks things off but you can hear it waiting to drop like musical thunder clouds gathering. Some of Crashgate’s soul is shown as it vocalist Craig Sheridan talks about being there for. Then the thunder drops and Crashgate show you what they can do. A powerful riff gives new life to the track as Sheridan’s vocals intensify. The chorus ‘You take the pain away/You make me whole again’ manages to bounce around your brain long after the song’s end without losing any of its sincerity. The power of the words are shown when even a line whispered holds its own against the storm of guitars and drums.
The sincerity of the lyrics and their delivery is only half of what makes this record awesome however. The guitars and drums power through your skull like the hulk with a hangover. Not just being loud for the sake of loudness the riff sweeps you away right into a tasty breakdown (the best kind). From here on in the song picks up even more energy! This song is sure to be a beast live, but don’t take my prediction for it though – find out for yourself!
A release like this with this level of accomplishment and power was the only thing that Crashgate were ever going to produce. Sincere yet powerful this wouldn’t sound out of place on any music outlet and shows how high the standard of local music can be. Find their gig dates here and see them live – something you won’t regret! The band work closely with the charity For Luca, when you’re at their gig be sure to raise a hand from him!
They’re Chuck Norris’s new favourite band, just saying…
